AT MAVEN WE SEE
THINGS DIFFERENTLY

Who is Maven Capital?
Maven Capital does do not have a large number of advisers, that is not our space. Our goal is to maintain a close knit family of compliant and caring financial professional advisers and providing them with the tools and support they need to achieve their goals and aspirations.

Published estimates predict current events may lead to the industry shrinking by a third or even half the number of current advisers by 2024.
That’s a loss of between 8000 and 12,000 advisers.
There’s a level of anxiety felt by many around our industry at this time. We see many of the challenges facing advisors today having little to do with finances or investment choices.
Wholesale changes in regulatory, education & qualification requirements, reduced income, increased costs and the changing attitudes of some larger AFS licensees are all leading to reduced adviser numbers and is leaving many advisers at a cross roads questioning whether they want to remain in the industry and what if any are the options.

WHAT IS HAPPENING
IN THE FINANCIAL ADVISORS WORLD?

Maven Capital knows there are advisers that have a wealth of experience that are currently finding themselves at a crossroads.
Many of these experienced advisers have spent their career helping clients build and protect wealth in order to retire comfortably and accomplish their goals. Ironically those same advisers are not following their own advice or know where to start to put together a transition or succession plan.

Quick exit strategy or 5 year succession plan?
Of course there are many questions, everyone’s circumstances are different, you may be looking for a quick exit strategy or perhaps a 5 year succession plan or even just want to change to a smaller licensee with a progressive management style that can support your business through infrastructure, support and compliance.
The reasons for exploring these options are many and might include:
Gradual or immediate retirement
Preservation of
business value
Chronic health
issues
Business continuity for their clients
Looking for a better financial deal
Some advisers may be in a position to ‘sell’ their book of clients, this too is a daunting prospect in the current environment, getting the value out of something that has taken you years to build and no doubt have some very close relationships with to someone you don’t know or trust is not easy. What happens if the clients don’t get on with the new adviser and leave, that could reduce the revenue and put your earn out at risk. There is always the risk that what you consider a fair price is not always the same as the buyer’s thinking.
It is easy to see how some clients could be adversely affected, particularly for small and standalone financial service adviser practices.
Advisors do not need to feel alone in their practices with little in the way of planning and compliance support or in the case of one person businesses somewhere to go or call for a chat.
We recognise every practice and adviser is unique, Maven’s flexible and progressive management style offers options that can be tailored to suit many situations and circumstances, whether it be a longer term succession plan or a shorter exit strategy.
Maven Capital works closely with its advisers to provide Leadership, Infrastructure and Support so they are able to focus on their clients and their business, which at the end of the day we recognise as being your business.
Of course you may also just want have a look for a fresh approach from your licensee. And this is what Maven Capital is about.
